Description

Stamp of the Republic of Burundi (First Republic); 1968; commemorative stamp of the issue to the "Easter 1972"; issue of 5 stamps + 1 block à 6 different stamps (perforated) (block with 1 decorative side field with text and without nominal value); The depicted stamp is BDI Michel: No. 857A from 1972. The stamp shows as motive a detail of the painting "The Holy Trinity" or "La Santissima Trinidad" by El Greco (original name: "Domínikos Theotokópoulos") (1541-1614); Frederico Baroccio created this artwork in 1577-1579 in the style of the Spanish Mannerism and is contemporary located in the "Museo del Prado" in Madrid (Spain).; Unfortunately this stamp was postmarked with an unreadable CTO.
