Stamp of the Republic of Burundi (First Republic); 1971; commemorative stamp of the issue to the "Christmas 1971"; issue of 5 stamps + 1 se-tenant à 2 different field (with decorative text side field without nominal value) + 2 blocks à 3 different stamps (perforated, imperforate; Blocks 52A+52B (with overprint = Block 54A+B)); stamp without overprint; The depicted stamp is BDI Michel: No. 800A from 1971 and shows as motive a detail of the painting "Nursing Madonna" or "La Virgen de la Leche" by Luis de Morales (around 1509-1586) (also called "El Divino"); Luis de Morales created this artwork in 1568 in the style of the Spanish Mannerism and is contemporary located in the "Museo del Prado" in Madrid (Spain).; Unfortunately this stamp was postmarked with an unreadable CTO.
