Stamp of the Republic of Burundi (First Republic); 1971; commemorative stamp of the issue to the "Christmas 1971"; issue of 5 stamps + 1 se-tenant à 2 different stamp fields (with one decorative text side field without nominal value) + 2 blocks à 3 different stamps (perforated, imperforate; Blocks 52A+52B (with overprint = Block 54A+B)); stamp without overprint; The depicted stamp is BDI Michel: No. 799A from 1971 and shows as motive a detail of the painting "Madonna with child and Saint John" by Andrea del Sarto (1486-1530).; Andrea del Sarto has created this artwork in 1518 in the style of the Italian Mannerism and it is contemporary located at the "Villa Borghese" in Rome.; Unfortunately this stamp was postmarked with an unreadable CTO.
