Deutsch: Genehmigt durch Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten Köln vom 15. März 1974.
Der grüne Schildgrund steht für Natur und Gesundheit, mit einem silbernen (weißen) Flussband als rechte Flankenleiste, die Erft symbolisierend, die der Stadt den Namen gegeben hat. Am linken Schildrand zwei anliegende goldene (gelbe) Quadrate, deren Anordnung ein „E“ hervorbringt, als deutlich hervortretendes „Gemerk“ für Erftstadt.
