Summary[edit]

Description
English: St Neot: Wheal Victoria wheelpit at Golitha Falls. A copper mining venture was begun here in 1844 and abandoned in 1846. In 1851 a second attempt was made with the installation of a 30’ x 7½’ waterwheel. This was erected by the falls pumping the mine via 150 fathoms of flat rods. Closure came in 1855. Today the dry leat, once fed by the river Fowey, and two wheelpits remain
