| Description | St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church at 119 Avenue B at the corner of East 7th Street in the Alphabet City section of the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City was built in 1848, one of the first in the city in the Gothic Revival style, with the design attribuited to Patrick C. Keely. In 2001 it was closed because of safety issues, but as of 2012 it is being renovated for reuse as a church. (Source: From Abyssinian to Zion (2004)) |
