| Description |
English: The trees at the south end of the baseball field in the western (South Jamaica) section of St. Albans Park, at the southwest corner of Merrick Boulevard and Sayres Avenue in South Jamaica / St. Albans, Queens. I initially thought this was a storm drain, but this is actually the remnants of Cornell Creek. The main section of the park across the street was originally the One Mile Pond, a mill pond and later a reservoir along the creek, which flowed southwest towards the larger Baisley Pond reservoir as part of the Brooklyn Waterworks' Ridgewood Aqueduct (Counduit) system.
