Array of spirit levels - equilibrium sensors in almost perfect agreement (focus stack)

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Array of spirit levels. These are equilibrium sensors and are arranged here in almost perfect concentric agreement. Due to focus stacking method all features in focus despite varying distances from lens.
Deutsch: Anordnung mehrerer Dosenlibellen.

NOTE: This image is a focus stacked image of "spirit levels - array of equilibrium sensors in almost perfect agreement.jpg" consisting of 23 images that were merged using Zerene Stacker Version 1.04 Build T2019-10-07-1410 (licensed). As a result, this image underwent digital manipulation which may have included blending, blurring, cloning, and colour and perspective adjustments. As a result of these adjustments, the image content may be slightly different than reality at the points where the images were combined. This manipulation is often required due to lens, perspective, and parallax distortions.

en: Array of circular spirit levels, all parts of photographic equipment.

  • Each one is in a sense an individual equilibrium sensor.
  • All circles are arranged in almost perfect concentric agreement.
  • The focus stacking method enables keeping all features in focus despite varying distances from the lens.
  • Image taken in May 2020.

Technical details describing the making of of this image:

  • Lens: Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS.
  • ISO 100, shutter speed 1/15s, aperture 11, bias(=expos.comp.) -0.00, WB (white balance) 5200K, 8-bit JPG.
  • FOCUS STACK / imaging: tripod; self-timer: 10 sec.; 23 images; rotated focus ring from near to far by 0.5 mm increment after every exposure (0,5 mm experimentally verified as best compromise of image overlap for this lens at aperture=11).
  • FOCUS STACK / Zerene Stacker 1.04: stacked 23 JPG images, (b) exported as TIFF/16bit.
  • Photoshop / TIFF/16bit: (a) removed remaining dust and sensor specks (b) slightly enhanced contrast (c) exported as JPG/max. quality file with embedded colour profile.
