Description
English: Description: Engraving by Hugo Steiner-Prag for Heinrich Heine’s romantic poem “Der Asra” published in a limited edition of Heine’s work “ Spanische Romanzen” (1921). The poem describes the encounter between the Sultan’s daughter and a young slave who belongs to the Asra, a tribe of slaves who die when they love.
