Deutsch: Vorderseite: 1 / PLV-S VL-TRA / B - 1818 - S // CARACAS. Schrift zwischen den Säulen des Herkules, unten Verzierung. B- S für Bartolomé Salinas.

Rückseite: Wertzahl 1 und Monogramm F 7 (Ferdinand VII.). Viergeteiltes Wappen.

Kommentar: 'Plus ultra' ('immer weiter' oder 'darüber hinaus') ist die Devise des spanischen Wappens. Der Spruch steht zwischen den Säulen des Herkules, die als die Grenze der bewohnbaren Welt galten. Die Darstellung war Symbol Kaiser Karls V. und steht für die Überseebesitzungen Spaniens. Aus diesem Symbol soll sich das heute verwendete Zeichen für den Dollar ($) entwickelt haben.
