Summary[edit]

Description
English: Southdean Parish Church Constructed in the Early English style in red rock-faced masonry and a Westmorland slate roof, this church stands on the east side of the road leading north from the crossroads in Chesters hamlet. It has an open belfry complete with weather cock at the north end and a cross at the south gable. The bell is inscribed "John C. Wilson & Co Founders AD 1876". No regular services have been held in the church since union with Hobkirk Church in 1988. The church was opened in 1876, although 1874 is embossed above the entrance to the lobby.
