Description
Español: El proceso de independencia en los territorios hispanoamericanos significó un cambio en el nuevo orden del sub continente, las colonias pasaron a ser repúblicas independientes con la necesidad de construir un proyecto nacional ; la transición no fue fácil, pues implicó cambios en los valores sociales, en el poder político administrativo y constantes renovaciones de las entidades territoriales." Este mapa, publicado por Laurie & Whittle, muestra con color añadida en las fronteras, las divisiones políticas de América del Sur dadas en 1808. Incluye hidrografía, relieve y ciudades principales. Adicionalmente presenta longitud con respecto al meridiano de Londres y trazado de la línea del Ecuador, su escala está expresada en millas y leguas.
