Description
English: Collection of With the 6th SFG in 1969, Sergeant First Class (SFC) Adderly volunteered for a "moderately hazardous mission" led by Colonel Arthur D. "Bull" Simons, Joint Contingency Task Force IVORY COAST, which executed the Son Tay Rai into North Vietnam to free American Prisoners of War (POWs) He is seen here on "Redwine Security Element #2" during pre-mission training at Eglin Air Force base in Florida. Adderly, on the right, is carrying an M16A1 rifle, a M79 40mm grenade launcher, and two light M72 Light Antitank Weapon (LAW) Rockets.
