Description
Deutsch: Auf dem Foto ist ein Weibchen einer Großen Wollbiene (Anthidium manicatum) abgebildet. Das Tier hat sich zum Schlafen an einer Knospe ihrer bevorzugten Futterpflanze festgebissen. Die Beine hängen herab. Das Tier hält sich nur mit seinen Mandibeln fest. Das Foto entstand in Eckernförde im Garten meiner Eltern an der gleichen Pflanze, an der ich im letzten Jahr bereits Große Wollbienen fotografiert habe. Siehe Anthidium manicatum. Auf einem weiteren Foto ist zu sehen, wie das Tier sich festgebissen hat.
English: The photo shows a female European wool carder bee (Anthidium manicatum), clung to a bud of her favorite food plant to sleep. The legs are hanging down. The animal holds on only with its mandibles. The photo was taken in Eckernförde in the garden of my parents at the same plant where I photographed European wool carder bees last year. See Anthidium manicatum. Another photo shows how the animal has taken hold.
