Bates was a 2-time Tony winner for Butley (1973) & Fortune's Fool (2002) (for which he each received a matching Drama Desk Award as well) and a BAFTA (TV) winner for An Englishman Abroad (1984). He also received 4 Golden Globe Award nominations: 2 for Georgy Girl; Far from the Madding Crowd; and The Fixer, for which he also earned his only Oscar nomination). In addition, he earned 3 BAFTA (Film) nods for A Kind of Loving, Women in Love, and Hamlet; and 1 Olivier Award nom for A Patriot for Me (1983); among many other accolades, including the SAG Ensemble Cast Award for Gosford Park (2001). This image was published and distributed with the intent to generate publicity for the actor, and is thus waived of any copyright, thereby rendering it public domain. |
