Summary[edit]

Description
English: This chart details Skylab's Dual X-Ray Telescopes, one of eight Apollo Telescope Mount facilities. It was designed to gather solar radiation data in the x-ray region of the solar spectrum and provide information on physical processes within the solar atmosphere. In support of the two primary telescopes, auxiliary instruments provided a continuous record of the total x-ray flux in two bands. A flare detector was also provided at the control console as an aid to astronauts for monitoring solar activity. The Marshall Space Flight Center had program management responsibility for the development of Skylab hardware and experiments.
