Description
Deutsch: Die Bronzestatue "Mutter Erde" wurde vom Künstler Engelbert Süss aus Pfreimd im Auftrag von Eberhard Freiher geschaffen. Die Figur symbolisiert die Verbindung zwischen Himmel und Erde und steht für das Bodenständige. Das lange Haar mit wilden Locken und die leichte Bekleidung lehnt sich an die Darstellung von Naturvölkern an. Vermutlich soll damit die Nähe zur Natur zum Ausdruck kommen. Die Skulptur steht am Fuße der Burgruine Weißenstein im Oberpfälzer Wald (auf dem gleichnamigen Berg).
English: The bronze statue "Mother Earth" was created by the artist Engelbert Süss from Pfreimd on behalf of Eberhard Freiher. The figure symbolizes the connection between heaven and earth and stands for the down-to-earth. The long hair with wild curls and the light clothing leans on the representation of primitive peoples. Presumably, this is to express the closeness to nature. The sculpture stands at the foot of the castle ruin Weißenstein in the Upper Palatinate Forest (on the mountain of the same name).
