El panel A muestra la sinapsis del neuropilo cortical.
Las flechas rojas correlacionan las dos membranas plasmáticas. En cortes finos, las membranas exhiben apariencias de tres capas como resultado de la disposición de los fosfolípidos en estructuras de dos capas. Esta estructura bicapa también es discernible en las vesículas sinápticas (flecha negra).
