Summary

[edit]
Description

"It was closure for Sikorsky in that it would be the final design for a small helicopter. By then, companies like Bell and Hiller were in production with two-person platforms. The success and obvious utility of the R-5/H-5 design, and the civilian application of the S-51, pointed to the need for larger and more utilitarian helicopters."
