Summary[edit]

Description
English: Siccar Point. Taken from cliff top looking North. Siccar Point was the site of a Celtic hill fort, destroyed by quarrying operation for greywackes, used as road stone. The rocky promontory is famous for James Huttons observations, that provided conclusive evidence of geological evolution. More information here 157014.
