| Description | This is pretty typical of the sorts of businesses found in Cornell: yoga studios, day cares, dog groomers, hair salons, dental clinics... On my entire walk I saw perhaps 3 convenience stores, one tiny pharmacy, one bakery / cafe, zero restaurants, zero banks, and zero supermarkets or grocery stores. So what do residents of Cornell do when they need groceries? Same thing anybody else in suburbia does, I suppose: hop in their car and drive a couple kilometres to a strip plaza or big box centre surrounded by parking lots, which you couldn't comfortably walk to even if you lived across the street, which nobody does. |
