| Description |
English: Shoreditch: Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road, EC1 Moorfields is so-called because it was founded in 1805 in the Moor Fields area of London near London Wall. It moved to this building in 1899. These two dates are recorded in the columns on either side of the main entrance in this photograph (although this entrance is currently closed). The Hospital's website is here http://www.moorfields.nhs.uk/Home |
