Summary[edit]

Description

Outside Baker Street tube station, a statue of a fictional person.

Well, why not? London has a statue of a boy who flies; and a Peruvian bear who can talk and wears glasses. Not forgetting a sign to Platform 9¾ at Kings Cross Station.

And, according to a large round purple disk on the railings, this statue talks. "Be amazed", it reads.

I didn't have time to listen to Sherlock Holmes' current views as he looks around modern London. But whatever he has to say is perhaps not quite so amazing as homeless people in one of the world's rich cities, lying or sleeping in doorways nearby.
