| Description |
English: Thompson B1 4-6-0 at Sheffield Victoria on a train to Doncaster. View NW to the Up platforms and towards Manchester via Woodhead by the ex-GC main line, in 1950 - before the electrification wires came. This was the busier end of Victoria Station, but the station was closed on 5/1/70 when the passenger services by the Woodhead route ceased, remaining services being diverted to Sheffield Midland. No. 1249 'Fitzherbert Wright' was built 10/47, withdrawn 6/64 and named after an LNER Director. |
