T/ie tribe of Akamantis obtainedtlte victory in the chorus of boys. T/ieon teas the performer on the flute ;Lysades, an Athenian, was the teacher of the chorus. Eeaenatus wasarchon. From this we conclude that on some solemn festival, which wascelebrated with games and plays, Lysicrates of Kikyna, a demosor borough town of the tribe of Akamantis, exhibited at his ownexpense, on behalf of the tribe to which he belonged, a musical ortheatrical entertainment, in which the boys of Akamantis obtainedthe ■(■ictory ; also, that, in commemoration of the victory, this mon-ument was erected to perpetuate the same to posterity, by the nameof the archon, or magistrate, in whose time this took place.
