Sestertius of Septimius Severus
Description
English: A heavily worn copper-alloy Roman sestertius of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), probably dating to the period c.AD 195-196( Reece period 10). Possibly DIVI M PII F P M TR P III COS II P P, S C reverse type depicting Roma helmeted, seated left on shield holding Victory in extended right hand and spear in left hand. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC IV.1 nos. 700, 702A.

The coin is missing a part of the outside edge of the flan, possibly due to wear.

Measurements: 27.70mm in diameter, 3.93mm thick and 16.31g in weight.
