The name "Puget Sound Wharf" is probably a misunderstanding of the sign visible in this picture. This pier was known as the "Ainsworth and Dunn Wharf", "Pier 14" and for a while in the World War I era "Dodwell Wharf". Since May 1, 1944, it's been Pier 70 (still there, but now with an almost completely new pier shed). The main tenant in the early years of the wharf was the Puget Sound Wharf and Warehouse Company, whose sign is visible here, hence the probable source of confusion.
