Title
Seattle Ice Company, ca. 1910
Description

The April 1910 "Cold Storage and Ice Trade Journal" states: "The Seattle Ice Company's new plant has been completed. The building contains, in addition to eight stores, the ice-making plant and storage rooms of the Seattle Ice Company. The cost of construction, including the ice-making plant, was $250,000." The 1911 City Directory lists the building at 2200-2216 1st Ave. S.

The building is still there 2022 at the southeast corner of 1st Ave. S. & S. Walker Street. It was a cold storage building at least into the 1980s; then Budget Office Furniture; then remodeled in 1999 and used for a few years as offices by Starbucks. It remains an office building as of 2022, with a variety of tenants.
