English: Seal pup, Bangor harbour. Seal pup on the slipway at Bangor harbour. Approximately 2.5 feet in length I only approached him to check that he wasn't injured or sick, but he seemed in good health and allowed me to get within a couple of feet, happily posing for some pictures. After reading information from the Exploris centre in nearby Portaferry http://www.exploris.org.uk/tour_of_exploris/nie_seal_sanctuary/if_you_discover_a_seal_pup/ I see that I probably shouldn't have done this!
This was taken at 9:00pm but I returned to the harbour early the next morning and there was no sign of him, so hopefully he happily returned to the water. See 4399376 for some related images. |
