Description

Item 175384, City Light Slides (Record Series 1204-04), Seattle Municipal Archives. Seattle Municipal Archives changed its URL scheme circa 2022; the older URLs beginning with "clerk" are deprecated, and will eventually fail. English: Seafair float (probably not specifically a Seattle City Light float, despite title on Flickr) in Grand Floral Parade, Portland, Oregon, U.S., 1959. The same float was featured that year in Seattle's Seafair Parade, but without the roses. "Queen Dian[e]" is Diane Gray. And the man standing to the right on the float is a Rosarian, from the Portland Grand Floral Parade. This is near what is now Tom McCall waterfront park.
