| Description |
English: Scott's Feeds, / Site of "The Lade", Omagh. They are located at Mountjoy Road, beside the County Hall. Most times of the day you can smell the grain from the silos and the pigeons have a field-day as there is plenty of surplus grain spilled on the ground. The Lade was a stream that ran from above the dam at the Camowen River, through the Leisure Centre grounds and then to power the old mill wheels, of which here was two. It is believed that one of the wheels was sent to Camowen Green to power a generator along the river, and it is still in use today. The other one was buried along the run of the Lade when it was filled in after the new milling plant was constructed. After leaving the Mill site, the Lade headed to join the River Strule, up-river from Bell's Bridge, via the line of the Bus Depot. |
