Summary[edit]
DescriptionScotch marine boiler.jpg |
English: Scotch marine boiler at the Bristol Industrial Museum. This was the boiler from the steam tug Mayflower, removed after the closure of the museum.
In use the two furnaces were coal burning, with a smokebox covering the visible tubeplate and leading up into the ship's funnel. Inside the boiler are a pair of combustion chambers, connecting the rear of each furnace to a group of tubes. Approx 9' diameter. |
