Deutsch: Links eine normale doppelseitige Diskette mit einer Schreibschutzkerbe. Rechts eine gewendete Diskette, welche eine zweite Schreibschutzkerbe hat. Ein Aufkleber (hier zur verdeutlichung geöffnet) setzte den Schreibschutz erst in Gang. Nur ohne den Aufkleber konnte die Diskette beschrieben werden. Da der Apple nur einseitig die Disktetten benutzte, konnte durch stanzen/lochen einer Kerbe auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite die Diskette auch auf der Rückseite benutzen. Ganz rechts eine damals übliche Schreibkerben-Stanze ("vierkantiger Randlocher")
