DESCRIPTION
Postcard of the Sawyer Tavern in Keene New Hampshire, located on 63 Arch Street. It was built about 1806 by Colonel Abraham Wheeler and was open to the public until 1840 or later. Josiah Sawyer and his wife Jane Wheeler Sawyer continued the tavern after the colonel's death. It was sold in 1922 to Horace and Lillian Sawyer (unrelated) and was again open to the public.
