La vierge apparaît en majesté assise sur un trône d'aspect profane, présentant l'enfant, dans un cercle ouvragé s'apparentant à une mandorle, soutenu par deux anges.

Deux évangélistes dont le nom figure dans un phylactère sont représentés par leur représentation dans le tétramorphe: le lion ailé représentant Saint Marc et un bœuf ailé représentant Saint Luc, brandissent des glaives en signe de puissance. Dans l'ébrasement de la fenêtre, une "main de Dieu" témoigne de sa sainteté.

Une vue rapprochée fait apparaître des repeints récents destinés à faire ressortir les traits des visages et des parures disparus à cause du lessivage de l'enduit.
