| Description |
English: Sandy heathland on Ogden's Purlieu, New Forest. This very eroded path leads to Ibsley Common across the sandy hummockscape to the southwest of Hasley Hill. Feet and hooves (as well as the occasional naughty off-road cyclist) have worn through to the fine sand beneath the surface of this dry heathland. I don't know why the bracken is so thin and stunted here - perhaps it is because the soil is so poor? |
