| Description |
I've been on the road for 11 days now, having driven over 5,000 miles over 11 states. This is my southernmost point: San Ysidro, the part of San Diego that touches the Mexican city of Tijuana. In fact, in the distance, the "MEXICO" sign is visible on the Mexican immigration checkpoint. I am not entering Mexico as part of this trip. This Ford Contour would later see Mexican duty for one day - visiting Nogales, Sonora, six months later. No other cars owned by me, current and previous, have ever traveled outside the United States, although in 2009, I would take delivery of a new Mercedes-Benz at the factory in Germany and cover four European countries before bringing it to the US. |
