Summary[edit]

Description
English: Saltney Ferry Road Railway Bridge The in-filled gap in the wall indicates where the classic railway staircase used to go down to the Mold Junction platform. This was the local line from Chester to Mold and was quite separate from the Chester to Holyhead main line seen above the parapet. The Chester to Mold line was closed in the 1960s after the Beeching Report, and the line, station and staircase were dismantled. There is a bench mark on the left of the former opening, at pavement level, below the domed stonework - 1459241.
