Summary[edit]

Description

A beautiful photo from the Lawrence Collection, with both sail and steam on display on the river Foyle in Derry. Mr. French's POV gives a superb view of the sailing ship, with all the detail on the masts and rigging in clear view. Interesting to see the timbers in the river in what appears to be a loose raft system. Was this cargo being loaded or discharged, or some form of jetty?
