| Description |
English: Wyoming big sagebrush steppe in the region harbors very short statured and widely spaced shrubs and a diversity of graminoids suggestive of a long history of intense grazing. These graminoids include Agropyron smithii, Agropyron cristatum, Carex filifolia, Festuca idahoensis, Stipa exigua, Stipa hymenoides, and Stipa comata. Chrysothamnus nauseosus is occasional and forbs are scarce but include sporadic Phlox hoodii. Bromus tectorum is rare in the sagebrush steppe of this area although it is common along the roadsides. |
