The original finding aid described this as: Description: Photographic documentation of Mission Specialist Pierre Thuot checking on a Commercial Protein Crystal Growth Experiment (CPGE) on the Space Shuttle Columbia's middeck during STS-62. Includes the participation of Mission Specialist Marsha Ivins (021-022). The goal of the CPGE is to produce larger, purer, and more highly structured space-grown crystals for a variety of medical and pharmaceudical purposes.
