  • Français : La Société nationale de sauvetage en mer (SNSM) est une association française née en 1967 de la fusion de la Société Centrale de Sauvetage des Naufragés (créée en 1865) et des Hospitaliers Sauveteurs Bretons (1873). Sa mission première est le sauvetage des personnes en danger en mer. Son financement est assuré pour moitié par des subventions publiques et est complété par des dons privés (membres de l'association, dons, partenariats).
  • English: The Société nationale de sauvetage en mer (SNSM) is a charity based in France dedicated to saving lives at sea around the French coasts . It is largely a volunteer organisation and was founded on 1967. The organisation is for half financed by public subsidies and for the rest by membership fees, voluntary donations and legacies from members of the public.
