Description

A U.S. Navy Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King (BuNo 149910) of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 8 (HS-8) "Eightballers" hovers with a torpedo recovery net suspended below it, in February 1968. HS-8 was assigned to Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 59 (CVSG-59) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington (CVS-20).

The SH-3A 149910 was later converted to an SH-3H and crashed on 23 February 1989 while in service with HS-6, Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11), aboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65).
