| Description | Two Sikorsky SH-3A Sea Kings of helicopter anti-submarine squadron HS-4 Black Knights approach the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CVS-10) during a deployment to Vietnam between October 1964 and May 1965. A third SH-3A with folded rotor blades is visible in the foreground, together with a Douglas A-4C Skyhawk of Marine attack squadron VMA-223 Det. T Bulldogs. Three Skyhawks were assigned to Carrier Anti-submarine Air Group 55 (CVSG-55) for self defence. A Charles F. Adams (DDG-2)-class plane guard destroyer is visible in the background. |
