English: Bridging Application and Network Gaps (BANG) research group based in the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Western Cape in Bellville, South Africa. See http://www.coe.uwc.ac.za/index.php/BANG/BANG.html
Eight BANG PhD candidates, a post-doc extraordinaire, and several Honours students this year (M's all graduated). Strong collaboration from Information Systems, and links to Statistics, Gender Studies, Pharmacy, Industrial Design Engineering (TU Delft, the Netherlands), Electrical Engineering (UJRC, Spain), and beyond; to the UWC Institute for Social Development and DST CoE in Food Security and Right2Know . . . We are activists all and one! Zenzeleni Networks spun-off as non-profit company, and its model winning Best Innovation with Social Impact award from the Department of Science and Technology, Mozilla Foundation Equal Rating Challenge finalist . . . things are definitely looking good with this bunch, following on the footsteps of those that came before. Wow. You all impress me soooooo much . . . *You* are why it's 20 years for me in this game . . . and looking forward to more. Thanks, people, for teaching me so much! I love learning from you all. #AfricanPeopleAtWork #Ubuntu
