Description
Español: Con una arquitectura Neoclásica Francesa que resalta las decoraciones en yeso y los apliques que dan realce a las tonalidades, el salón musical es uno de los más importantes de Colombia y reconocido en el mundo por grandes artistas.Su construcción con materiales especiales para dar buena acústica la hacen una de las más buscadas para los conciertos.Con un espacio para 400 espectadores, el gran salón guarda la forma y características desde su construcción entre los años 1932 y1934. En 16.6 metros de ancho y 37,34 de fondo (desde el trascenio hasta la escalera de la entrada principal) se pueden observar el estilo republicano y los detalles que propusieron en su época el arquitecto Helí Moreno Otero, el escultor Félix María Otalora, el pintor Domingo Moreno Otero y el ingeniero Alfonso Pulecio.Los medallones al óleo ubicados en las paredes laterales son el homenaje que el maestro Castilla quiso hacerle a los genios de la música clásica mundial, la escultura está enmarcada con el busto de Beethoven, que le dio el nombre inicial, y la melodía es representada con el retumbar de los instrumentos que se dan cita en la tarima del claustro.
