The original finding aid described this as: Description: STS-103 payload commander Steven L. Smith (free-floating with no stripes on his EMU) and mission specialist John M. Grunsfeld (attached to a workstation on the RMS arm with a red strip on the pants of his EMU) are photographed working during the first of three extravehicular activities (EVAs) performed during the mission. Views include: Grunsfeld works to replace Rate Sensor Units (RSUs) in the HST while Smith prepares to translate up from the HST aft bulkhead. Australia is visible in the background.
