English: Ruins of Burnt House. Birk Wood Farm on the far side of the dale.

Burnt House was first recorded in the 1851 census as occupied by a Stephen Wood farming 40 acres and employing one agricultural labourer. In 1861 John Bell, molecatcher lived there but in 1871 he gave his occupation as a blacksmith. It was later called Locker Cottage and fell into ruins sometime after 1916. Reference: Snilesworth
