Description
Deutsch: Die Burg Volmarstein ist eine Burgruine in Wetter (Ruhr)-Volmarstein bei Hagen. Sie wurde im Jahre 1100 vom Kölner Erzbischof Friedrich I. von Schwarzenburg errichtet. Zu sehen ist eine schlichte Sandstein-Hinweistafel an der mittleren Turmruine.
English: The castle "Burg Volmarstein" is a ruin in Wetter (Ruhr)-Volmarstein near Hagen, Germany. It was built in 1100 by archbishop Friedrich I. von Schwarzenburg. This image a sign at one of the tower ruins with the inscription (translated): "The castle, which was built in 1100 by the Archbishop of Cologne and inhabited by the Lords of Volmarstein, was conquered and destroyed in 1324 by the Count of Mark."
