Roses (Oranienstraße 187) ist eine schwule Bar in der bei Berlinbesuchenden anhaltend beliebten Kreuzberger, Oranienstraße. Wie so viele queere Institutionen liegt ihre Entstehung und ihre Vergangenheit etwas im Dunkeln. Zu erfahren ist nur das, was auf den Tourismusportalen im Internet steht, in dessen Kommentare Barbesuchende ihre Überraschtheit kundtun, dass das Schankpersonal einer sehr gut besuchten, schwulen Bar in eines für Party-Tourismus bekanntesten Sträßchen Berlins gelegentlich beschwipst wirkt, und im Grundton zuweilen schnippisch ist.^[1]

Roses (Oranienstrasse 187) is a gay bar in Kreuzberger's, Oranienstrasse. The street is perennially popular among Berlin tourists. Like so many queer institutions, the bar's coming into being and its pasts is scantly documented. What little is to be known about the place can mostly be found on tourism portals on-line, where in the comments bar-goers express their surprise that the bar staff of a very busy gay bar in one of Berlin's best-known streets for party tourism is a bit snippy and at times does not seem entirely sober.^[2]
